Pixar Story Internship Application (2023)

To the 2023 Pixar Story Internship Committee,
I made a storyboard comic for my application titled “Aha” (see below,) inspired by the novelist Haruki Murakami who frequently describes when he first decided to write a novel in 1978 at Jingu Stadium in Tokyo. He was 29. In my version, Murakami is a woman and a teacher who inspires her students to love books. I didn’t think much about the story when I wrote it. I suppose it’s about how I love my teachers. That’s why I want to be a story intern at Pixar, to learn from the best in cartooning and film. I can’t think of a better way to become a better drawer and storyteller.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email at layetjohnson@gmail.com. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Layet Johnson
